On September 9, 2025, Tri-Service General Hospital (TSGH) signed a cooperation memorandum with Yihua Biotech Co., Ltd., announcing their joint effort to promote AI digital pathology and cancer screening technologies. The goal is to establish Taiwan's own AI pathology database and diagnostic models, improving early cancer detection and clinical application efficiency.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by Major General Huang You-Min, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of National Defense; Major General Shih Wen-Long, Senior Advisor; and Major General Tsai Jian-Song, Director of the Military Medical Bureau. Chairman Huang Chong-E of Yihua Biotech also led the company’s delegation to attend. Major General Chen Yuan-Hao, Director of TSGH, stated that this collaboration is not only a strategic alliance between the medical and industrial sectors but also an important implementation of Taiwan's "Health Taiwan" and "National Defense Resilience" policies. It highlights the commitment to smart healthcare, medical autonomy, and sustainable development.
Yihua Biotech has long been dedicated to semiconductor biochips, AI imaging diagnostics, and automated pathology systems, receiving international recognition. This collaboration will be introduced into the clinical field at TSGH, integrating the expertise of the Pathology Department, Digital Medical Center, Precision Medicine and Genomics Center, and cancer treatment teams. It is expected to significantly enhance the efficiency and accuracy of pathology diagnoses.
